How can someone verify my certificate?

Every certificate issued by PET Courses contains a unique certificate ID. This allows anyone to verify that your certificate is genuine.

How verification works:

The person verifying (e.g. an employer or licensing body) visits petcourses.co.uk/verify.
They enter the certificate ID printed on your certificate.
The system displays the verified details: your name, the course title, completion date and CPD hours.

This provides independent proof that you completed the course and that your certificate is legitimate.

Where to find your certificate ID:

Your certificate ID is printed on the bottom of your digital PDF certificate and on any printed hard copy.

Tip for employers: If you have received a certificate from a job applicant or employee, you can verify it quickly at the link above.

How do I access my course downloads and resources?

Many of our courses include downloadable resources such as PDF handouts, CPD transcripts, learning documentation and reference materials.

Accessing downloads within a course:

Downloads are typically made available within the relevant lessons. Look for download buttons or links within the lesson content. Some downloads only become available once you have completed certain lessons or modules.

Accessing all your downloads:

You can also find all your available downloads in the Downloads section of your profile. Click on your name at the top of the page and select Downloads from the menu.

How do I renew my first aid certificate?

For our canine and feline first aid courses, we recommend renewing your certification every three years. This is because first aid procedures and best practices are continually updated through new research.

How to renew:

Log into your account and visit your 'My Courses' page, you'll find the renew button here.
 	Purchase the renewal at a reduced price compared to the original course.
 	Your existing course progress will be reset, allowing you to retake the full, up-to-date course content.
 	Upon completion, a new certificate will be generated with an updated date.

Why does the course reset?

Because first aid procedures evolve over time, simply re-downloading your old certificate would not reflect your current knowledge. Retaking the course ensures you are fully up to date.

Is renewal mandatory?

Renewal is recommended, not mandatory. However, if you hold an Animal Activities Licence (AAL) or work in a professional capacity where first aid certification is expected, keeping your certificate current demonstrates ongoing competence.

How do I manage my email preferences?

We respect your inbox. Here's how our email communications work and how you can manage your preferences.

Types of emails we send:

Transactional emails — order confirmations, course access details, password resets and similar. These are essential for your account and cannot be opted out of.
Course-related emails — reminders about courses you haven't started, completion congratulations and first aid renewal reminders. These are related to your purchases and help you get the most from your courses.
Marketing emails — occasional emails about new courses, offers and news from PET Courses. You can opt out of these at any time.

Opting out of marketing emails:

At checkout, you have the option to opt out of marketing emails. If you didn't opt out at checkout but would like to now, you can update your preferences in your account settings under Email Preferences, or click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.

Notification settings:

You can also manage community notification preferences (e.g. group activity alerts) from the Email Preferences section of your account settings.

Yes! All current students enjoy a 10% discount on additional courses.

How it works:

When you are signed in to your student account, the discount is applied automatically at checkout on eligible courses. There's no need to enter a coupon code.

The student discount can typically be used alongside other promotions, although certain limited-time offers may have their own terms. Bulk discount pricing on enrolment codes is calculated separately.
