Most people are familiar with separation anxiety (SA) in dogs yet cats, especially those who are deeply attached to their owners, can also experience SA. Indoor cats are more likely to be affected because the level of interaction with an owner is likely to be high and so their absence is more noticeable.

Applying some principles that apply to the treatment of canine SA might be useful, but here are a few quick tips to help cats be more independent…
